Our Story
Welcome to Andiamo, a culinary journey that began in the heart of Brindisi, Italy, and has now found its home in the heart of East Grinstead. Our story is one that spans over three decades, starting with a passion for cooking ignited in a school kitchen and fueled by the joy of creating comforting meals for every celebration.
Our head chef & Owner, Tariq learned the art of cooking in his school days, and since then, he has devoted 30 years to perfecting his craft. Born and raised in the picturesque town of Puglia, Tariq’s culinary journey led him through the diverse flavours of England, where he spent 15 years honing his skills and picking up the best dishes along the way.
Every dish on our menu is a celebration of family, culture, and the warmth that comes from a home-cooked meal. Picture this: a table laden with Penne Calabrese and Nonna’s lasagne, reminiscent of the meals enjoyed after coming home from school. The ambiance of Andiamo is inspired by the cozy, familial atmosphere of Grandma's house in Italy, where every celebration revolves around food.You can even enjoy private dining in ‘Grandma’s room’ itself.
As Tariq dreamed of creating a place where every guest feels like family, he spent four years meticulously planning Andiamo. The decor transports you to Italy, with an immersive aquarium and vibrant pictures that capture the essence of the Italian lifestyle. Our commitment to authenticity extends to our wine selection, with each bottle sourced directly from Italy to complement our dishes perfectly.
Because no Italian meal is complete without a good cup of coffee, we invite you to start or end your day with an espresso paired with Limoncello – a true Italian tradition that adds a delightful kick to your daily routine.
